93 SC400 - Just Purchased
Hey, I am a proud new member of the Lexus family and also new to this forum. Just bought a 93 SC400 in California.. here are the details.
Miles: 133,600
Owners: 3
Title: Clean
Price: $3,900
The owner seems to have taken good care of the car mechanically. There are a few cosmetic issues: driver's leather seat is torn (needs a cover), light on the fuel and temperature gauge needles are out in the dash, paint is faded on front and rear bumper, and AC control panel is slightly fogged.
So, this is what he told me he did on the car.. I was wondering what else (if anything) I need to do? I didn't notice any problems during the test drive.
At 95K (in 2004)
-Replaced alternator, power steering pump, did a power steering flush, replaced rear brake pads and turning of both rotors, replaced battery
At 116k (in 2006)
-Replaced AC compressor and clutch, oil, seal, dye flush
At 125k (in 2008)
-Replaced all four tires
At 131k (in late 2008)
-New radiator, upper hose, lower hose, thermostat, water pump, timing belt
So now the car is at 133k. The last mechanic recommended: "servicing tune up and rack pinion seal passenger's side. check fluids often, gauges don't work". Once I have the car in my hands, should I go do those things he recommended? Does anybody have a rough estimate as to how much that will cost? What else should I do mechanically to the car???
Thanks so much!!
