I am a newbie -- 92 sc4. How do I tell if I have stock muffler or something different? The passenger side sounds loud and I'm trying to determine if this is just how the car sounds or if the muffler or some other component is bad.

 

The stock muffler is a flat, dull metal color. Anything aftermarket will be polished metal or chromed. If only the passenger side is suspect of being different, just compare it to the driver side muffler. If they look the same physically, they probably are. If you recently had a muffler replaced with a brand new factory muffler, they sounds may be different, but I doubt it.
