I have a 1994 Sc400 and I need a new inspection, however my check engine light is on and the Trac Off light next to it are both on. Obviously it cannot be inspected with the lights the way they are so I ran it up to a shop to get it diagnosed. The shop said that no codes were visible and that there is only 2 codes that are not stored in memory, #16 and #53 I believe, and both lead to the ecu being bad and needing replaced. They said there is no way to get rid of the codes, but that the car will run fine but needs to be fixed to be inspected and it would cost $1200 for the ecu and $300 for labor. Found a couple on ebay for about $150, or anyone else have any cheaper fixes. Thanks for reading all of that.
