Well, today is a sad day.....my waterpump went on my SC. Driving in traffic this morning and noticed the temp gauge creeping upwards so I pulled off the road and called for a tow. Had to wait an hour for the tow truck in this Michigan cold and got the car towed to my local dealer. After I got there, the dealer said that they had no more loaners available. So, I called Lexus Customer Service and next thing you know, the service advisor was getting an *** chewing and I was pulling out in a 2002 IS300 manual I don't get my car back until Tuesday or Wednesday, so I can beat up the IS300!!

 

Just curious:

Usually, water pumps start making noises and leak as they are about to fail- did you notice any of those symptoms?
How many miles are on your water pump?

Any idea how much this will cost you?

 

there was a bit of whining from the front end, but no leaks at all. I have 52,000 on the car. It is going to cost around $900.

Yeah, it is covered under warranty. Just feel bad for the guys who don't have a warranty!
