Another Question: Do sequential turbos sound cooler spooling up than single turbo engines? Just a question of personal preferance, and wondering what people think.
1) 96 has same size tunnel as 95; big enough for 6-speed swap with no BFH usage

2) dunno; depends on what you like... I'll tell you what sounds the coolest IMO though. Having the system converted to Speed density a la VPC or AEM/Haltech ECU where there is no more AFM,
and then having a ball bearing turbo or turbos on there... they sound like a jet when spooling up; sounds AWSOME

to run 12s all is needed is the Stage 1 Toyomoto kit or the Fmax kit. With a wee bit of tuning 11s is easy. (Or if you just add race gas and up the boost some)

I too was also considering the swap because I have almose 200k miles on my SC300 and want to turbo by the end of summer. But, I was told it would cost around 10K......and for around 350hp....not worth it. That is untill you upgrade those twins But thats way out of my price range. So i figure a engine rebuild and a stage 1 Toyomotor kit for 5,500 and around 400hp to the wheels.

Where did you look at the prices for the engine swap? PowerHouse? Try some smaller places. I can tell you that engine swap can cost you as much as the turbo kit. You just need to shop around.

11s arent easy.......i promise that......12s are a good target...very doable and fun as hell...im working on 10s now.....i HIGHLY reccommmend a toyomoto single turbo...think about what the supra guys do..they junk stock twins for singles all day long...single is a better option...and easier to upgrade in the future......and with a 92 your gonna have alot of issues fitting the tranny in the tunnel....a big PITA.......Jeff

Yeah, but some of us have high milage cars. Mine's only 100000, but I still want something with low miles. Knowing me I will have 200000 in a year or so. LOL.

Hey gang,

i still have problems with link. Would someone please link me to Phil's homepage. Thanks. I found a place can do the whole swap for $5,000. 2jZ will cost about $2,900 and labor is $2,100.

Sparks Motorsports. Ask for Joey. His is the owner. Tell him Dr. David Phan refer you. $5,000 was the price he quoted me. $5,000 include 2JZGTE with labor. Basically, you drop off your car and pick it up in few weeks. Sparks is in Rowland Heights California
