~Anyone ever have their wheels widened?~
This doesn't look like a bad idea. I have been searching for wheels for a long time. Everytime I find a set they are to lackluster in someway. I guess I could always find the wheels close to what I want and make it wider.
Yes sir!
My company has got an account with a local wheel repair and customization shop that can give me an awesome deal on something like this. I was just a little iffy about the idea at first but it seems to be a pretty common practice. Ive got 18X10 in the rear and am looking to have them widened to 11" or 12". I want to be able to stretch a 275 on these bad boys. Thanks for all the feedback fellas!

those barrels in the pic were widen for either 2 or 3 piece. maybe customer liked the wheels but have no after market swap support.
3 piece wheels you would just get the other end of the barrel and swap it out, to make it wider or change the off sets. its just that easy.
i dont see why in the world would someone widen a stock wheel.
thats going complete retard.
also with 12 inch wheels you better be making over 350whp or your are slowing your car down.. lol

nice my friend told me he was going to do this to some stocks he has on his 2GS and i was like "your gonna do what
" but i guess its a pretty popular thing to do. I would jump on a set of IS-F stocks and widen the rear to 10"

Sleeper effect, or maybe some people prefer certain factory wheels. I've seen Mustang guys narrow wheels as well, like stock 15x7 10-holes down to 15x3.5 for running skinnies up front and widened to 15x10 in the back for slicks. It's a badass look when done right.
