when i say "new" driver i dont mean he's never driven before or even a driver thats been driving for less than a year. i lived in florida prior to moving out to kansas and he and i drove the car back here and he drove for probably close to 600 miles of the trip. he did fine.

i think i shouldnt have let him drive the car now that i look back on it only because the tires were close to bald and if he started to slide he wouldnt know what to do.

*update: he has nothing to give money or car wise for my car so i just forgave his debts and told him to to worry about it. i had money set aside to do everything to this car (1jz, single turbo setup, manual conversion, suspension, wheels, etc etc) and so im just lookin for another sc300 now... suxs..

miss the car...

Somewhat on the same page as na4now. You weren't that smart in letting him drive. I let my dad drive once and my girlfriend drive because I was working on her car and she had to work, those are the only people I have ever let drive my car. Just think of it as an expensive lesson learned. I slid into a curb and had to replace a rim, expensive lesson learned but it was my own fault so I could not blame anyone else. Does your friend have his own car and insurance? His insurance should cover it since it was his fault, and maybe make a deal with his insurance to give you most of the money but not to claim it totaled.

Thats a little harsh no? Anyways lesson learned dont let others drive your car. I even get scared when my brother drives it because he wants to impress a girl. Anyways, glad that you sold it. Just be a little scratch that ALOT more careful next time.

I agree with you. I cant feel sorry for the OP totaling his car. The funniest part is how the OP is OKAY with his friend totaling his car. I know damn well i would never let anyone abuse my car. Actually i would never let anyone besides my dad drive the car. But lets say they did total it, no way would I take the loss.

Although legally its kinda tricky suing for the damages. After all its one thing if the friend lied and said he knew how to drive and wrecked the car as soon as he took off. But if you see your friend abusing the car, then i guess your allowing the reckless action.

P.S. I dont know how you people can let your wives and girlfriends drive your cars. I would be scared sh|t-less

He never was Abusing my car! you all are so retarded. I'm getting off this forum because so many of you are either so full of yourselves or think more of your car than a friend. sure he jacked up my car. yes. but in my opinion a friend like the one's i have is much nicer than a car.

see ya.

He'll be back, they all come back haha. Or he'll go to Lexus owner's club, or he'll buy a civic, audi, bmw, or mercedes and go on those forums and say Lexus drivers are full of themselves....seen it happen
