Default Let your Lamps BREATH!!

Well since i have more pics of my setup with crankcase breathers for headlights, i thought i would open up a thread for it.

I was so impressed with the performance of the headlight breathers I did them for the highs as well, waiting on a filter, they are on backorder.

If you are running HID's or have problems with condensing headlights, this is the way to go. They allow the headlights to breath, and keep moisture out once you properly oil the filter.

Now that i am going to HID my fogs, they will have breathers as well.

Humidy 90%+

80+ Degrees F.

2 car washes in the middle of the day

morning due soaking everything

Still not a DROP of moisture in the housings!!!!

Thanks brother. The rain isnt a problem, tends to be no worse than washing the car, but if you position the filters correctly and make sure you seal up everything good, moisture should never get to them.

I'm working on HID foglight project right now to go along with my custom headlights. I'm getting ready to put up a ton of photos in the thread so check it out.

Well it depends on how bad your lense/housing leak is, like most of these SC's it isnt the Seal between the lens and the housing that is leaking anyway (even though thats what SO many people think) Its a failure of the breather tubes on the back of the headlights. When they come from the factory, inside the tubes are oiled foam pieces shoved in them....as the years go on they break down and fall out, letting moisture in. Since they flow so little air to begin with, once the moisture is in there it isnt getting out.

The filters go for about 7 bucks a piece at your local autoparts store. +tubing and connectors.

so ... why did you decide to make the holes on the 2 headlights different..? .. one headlight the holes are at the corner and near the projector?.. and .. the other headlight.. both holes are next to eachother..

Pop your hood and check your OEMs brother, they are like that stock ( R/H is done that way due to intake) Not just that on the Right side i had to avoid a brace, and on the Left side i had to fit it next to the battery. Unless you remotely locate them, this is how you have to position them. Trust me i did the b#*$& work for ya'll. LoL!

Unbeknownst to you, this is nearly a direct quote from a post of mine from many years ago.

Here's one from 06 https://www.clublexus.com/forums/1755984-post5.html

I therefore concur.
