Need a SC300 Manual Help!
As far as the 5 speed swap goes, If you know how to work on cars, have patience and about a grand$, it's not that difficult. On the contrary, if you're just some Forum-jockey that pays people to work on his car, than a shop is going to charge you more than it's worth.
As your 5 year participation at Supraforums and Viperally should have taught you, the SEARCH function can be your best friend. Start by searching ...
...Uhh... "5 speed swap". And good luck dude. The SC300 is a wonderful platform.
If your in California or Florida its not that hard to find a sc300 manual. If your anywhere else, your gonna have a hard time finding a sc period.
With that being said i found 2 manuals the first day i was looking but one of them had a new clutch( i could tell by the feel) and i didnt know if they put a good or bad clutch it plus it was 6k so i passed up. 2nd car had a clutch that was replaced by an unlicensed friend and didnt full disengage; 1st gear basically didnt work. Needless to say its quite obvious that guy was cheep plus he drove like a madman. So i passed up on that car. The 3rd sc300 manual i found was 2 months later owned by the son of the original owner and selling because he couldnt afford the gas, hated driving the manual in la traffic and needed a family car for his pregnant wife. I was a 92 with 130k and in good condition one minor dent and a torn up driver seat. i paid 4500 for it which i thought was a fair value, not a deal but not getting ripped of either. I ended up having to replace the clutch but besides that, the car has been working perfect.
Its not that hard to find a sc300 5spd but its hard finding one that hasnt been beat on. Since the major of manuals are now owned by ricers.
