Looked through the build thread on another site. The car looks wicked... Anyone know how much it would cost to get the frame powder coated like he did.
Most of the time powder coat is cheeper then paint because it takes no prep work. For this car they hooked it up and did it for $650. Add the cost of the sand blast $250, then about a week of work to clean the chassis of undercoating stuff, seam glue, and sand.
The Tanaka Racing Vette got a make over for FD this year. New hood, front fenders, quarter panels, re did the front bumper, and a new wrap. Unfortunatly we broke the motor over in long beach and its currently apart. FD ATL is coming up in a week and since the Tanaka Racing Vette isn't going to make it and I really want to drive ATL again, the Lexy will be making the trip out.
I put the hot rod on the side while the lexy was being built but now that the lexy is done, I brought the car down to the shop and fixed it back up again. New front brakes, new hydro ebrake, rebuilt the trans, rebuilt the rear end with a new kaaz diff cause the old one exploded. Ran the ken block gymkhana invitational with it this weekend and got fastest time of the day plus an invite for the main event in dec 3, 4th at irwindale but not sure if the locost will be legal because they want production based vehicles. Anyway, here are some vids.
Damn thing broke second run, had that ratchet strap it to the frame to hold it together. Everything china made on my cars have broken so im not suprised.
Had to make some changes to Battle Version. Redid the web site but its still not exactly right. Also dropped alot of the prices so I think you guys will be happy with being able to get high quality parts at the new rate.
