I have a 1995 SC400 and would a dryish serpetine belt be the cause of a really loud obnoxious sqeaking?? Ive had a squeaking problem previously but that was due to my coolant reservoir leaking and the belt getting wet. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

 

buy a gatorback serpentine belt at autozone..it helped w/ my sqeaking...

 

That gatorback is most probably a patch job on a worse problem

 

i have the same problem but mine is a 300..if the belt doesn't help its probably your tensioner

 

I had the same problem except in the sc300. I replaced the bearing for the tensioner, but it did not stop. The crank pulley fell out while I was on the highway and damaged the fan. After looking under the hood, found out the harmonic balancer/pulley separated. There's a lot more information in the performance section.
