Default Lights in Instrument Panel

Hey Club Lexus,

I just bought a '92 SC400 with 99K miles . Some minor problems, but one that I want to know how to fix, the lights in the instrument panel.

http://i40.tinypic.com/rvc8as.jpg (kinda big picture)

This is the instrument panel. The left part (the temperature, is very poorly lighted, unlike the RPM #s 2-8) is out, but the needle shows. All the rest of the needles are out, and the right side, the gas lighting is out.

Is this a fuse problem or something I would need to open up and check for everything? So far, it looks like i may need to buy new needles that light up?

The needles work, they just wont light up.

Thanks!
Dion

if you go to an auto store you can these bulbs, they are 2 something. i wanna say 22 or 24. Basically they fit into the current bulb holder but are oversized. Like they look squarish. You can slide the blue covers off the current bulb and they will still fit over the oversized bulb. It's a lot cheeper then going to the dealership for new bulbs. Just make sure you dont rip the blue bulb covers.

big picture on tinypic? Isn't that a little ironic? Oh well. The search button is the third one from the right. I know I'm told by others that I need to search first.

Thanks guys,

I wasnt really sure what I was looking for, but I am guessing I should use the search button to figure out my next question(s):

How do i get the lightbulbs into the instrument panel?

Do i need to remove the whole front part to get there?

i'm guessing your refering to your own sticky...

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...-clusters.html

but i didnt see on it if i wanted to buy the standard light bulb, how to put it in myself?

i know you sell your own clusters, but i dont want to purchase a whole new cluster ( a bit too much money for my budget)

Ok I'll help you out man. Just follow the links in his sig or in that thread and you can find out how to remove your cluster here: http://lextech.org/forums/index.php?topic=8.0

Replacing the bulbs should be straightforward after that, but do it at your own risk.

O.L.T. doesn't sell clusters, he replaces the lighting in them as you can purchase here: http://lextech.org/osCommerce/index....a2f1fdcf4ce252

You're going to have to send the unit into them and follow all the directions
