There were no electircal changes between the cars for the same year. Be carefull though the 91 LS 400 is different then the 92 SC400. Other then that 92-94 LS and SC are the same. The 95 SC has a different ECU because the old ECU's died a lot. You have to use a 95 ECU and it has a black label compared to the orange on tthe older years.96 for sure is OBD2. Plug and play with 92-94
So if I find a Mines ECU it has to be for a SC400 95 specifically?
The 96+ OBD-2 obviously won't work, but the earlier 92-94 won't work either?
Yeah the 95 HAS to be for that year because that motor does not have a cold start injector on it compared to the 92-94 motors that do. It runs threw the regular fuel injectors and steps up the pump to compensate for it.
i went a did some research. not an interests of mine since i dont have a v8 but apparently mines retunes just about every toyota ecu and does all the UZ series one from 1 to 3uz's.
if you want to find more info you can also go on planet soarer and look up harry lemmens, i think thats his names. he retunes the factory ecus with different maps as well as removal of speed cut and some other things.

I googled it too but that wasn't what I was really getting at, I should have been more clear. The OP is talking like he can just pick one up anywhere like they're a dime dozen and they have modified base maps on file. If you brought them any ecu or sent it off sure they could tune it, but do they just sell them like they do the RB and 2J ecu's with a ton of modified maps just sitting on the shelf is what I was wanting to know. Doesn't really matter either way but I just haven't heard of any company selling "Mine's 1UZ ECUs"
Are the LS400 and SC400 ECU's from the same years compatible?
Are the MiNES ECU's for LS400's compatible with the SC400?
They're both 1uzfe and both the same trans. Are they different and why?
Could you explain this a little bit more please OP? I'm just trying to figure out if you just heard the name and threw it out there hoping to hit something or if you know of a person/company that sells them. Not ragging just wanting to know because I would really like to see a link where someone is selling a Mine's 1UZ ecu. It would be interesting to see what one would go for.
How is that in any way left field? I asked if Mines tuned the 1uz... it was a serious question...
I had no clue what you were asking you worded it weird. If you said do you know anyone that modifies the stock ECU I would understand that. To answer that I don't know anyone off hand. I didn't know Mine's modified ECU's I thought you were using incorrect grammar. lol
