I assume CA laws are fairly lax on tinting. In VA, Johnny Law is obsessed about enforcement. Had a State Trooper come out of his perch just cuz he saw tint and pulled out his meter it was 1% off. Then he starts kneeling on ground trying to find other things I guess to justify the stop and starts questioning the exhaust on the car too. He was kind enough to give me a $80 ticket.

Also got popped in another car by the local Barney Fife (there were 4 cars that showed up) on xmas eve and i showed him on that registration where I had the sunshading designation and he said thats not acceptable. Thinking that its not worth the hassle actually as much as I like it on.

I always had 20% tint in my previous cars... I like it but on my GS its 35% in the front and 20% in the rear. It came like that with the previous owner... Doesn't look bad in my opinion but not enough privacy for the front windows.

My sc4 is the only car I have gone without a tint. All my other vehicles are tinted. I like mine without the tint

But seriously, mine came tinted moderately dark, and I have no intent on changing it. I don't think the visors would look right if I wasn't tinted...

 

Ive had friends try to do their own tinting, with big regrets. I would have down loaded a pic of my car but not sure how.

 

thanks everyone, but i think ima still tint my car, i think about 35% would do just fine with me, in california we are only allowed to tint the rear what a bummer. O well.

 

the back view with out any tint yet, planning to get one soon, living in the bayarea i need my tints.

Im doing mine next weekend, 20% all around. I was going to run 5% but my SC is my daily driver. I work early in the morning and I like my car so I dont want to cut anyone off cuz i cant see em. 20-25% should be good

 

i'd go with 20% myself. sucky thing is that my local laws prohibit going that dark
