Default help with tilt steering wheel

My tilt steering wheel just messed up today. I noticed that its now staying out and does not retract when I turn off the car. Does anyone know what it could be?

did you play around with it.mine do that sometimes but not always, sometimes all it takes is placing the key back in the ignition.and check and see if you did not hit the button to keep it from moving in and out.

There is a switch on the side of the steering wheel near the controls to toggle that feature. If you turn it off it will always stay in the same position. Try flipping the switch back on.

If you dont hear a grinding noise....you might have hit the button.

If you do...Look up the DIY here about repairing the gear mech.
