it would be pretty cool and it would work on a car that isn't really low, but then what's the fun in it not being low?

You could mount it in the lower air dam if you are afraid of scraping.

How? We have 'teeth' in our air dams unless you plan on cutting them off. Also, the distance the plate has to retract in to the radiator/IC would also be a factor. JIC fronts should have no problem with the lower air dam setup, there is way too much room in that bumper.
