How much can you advance the timing on a sc300..

all depends on your plugs, ignition system, FI or NA, outside air temp, fuel

basically your worst enemy will be running leaner and detonation.

I know stock is at 10 advance i have it set at about 15 advance once it gets to 3,800 car pulls hard

if you had an egt gause you can see where timing advance can cause damage. most people dont advance their timing around here but rather retard it a bit. the case is most poeple go turbo and dont care about NA.

the stock advance of 10* is at idle. the total advance while operating on the motor will actually be more.

i know that on some of the VW and 4age atlantic motors ive worked on the idle advance was at about 18* and total advance was in the 35*ish degree range.
