2JZGTTE Coil Over Plug question
Hey guys I got quick question regarding coil over plugs. I have a 93 lexus sc300 with a W58 all stock. I want to upgrade to a 95+ supra engine package. I really don't want a distributor. Is this possible? Will I have to buy a whole new drive train and engine components to achieve this? Basically I want to get the coil over plugs package for tuning reason. Are the mounts in the same position same with the 6 speed tranny or should i stick to my year of package? Thanks
your questions sound like you could do some research which have been stated somewhere on here or supraforums or the internet somewhere.
if you swap in a gte engine with harness and ecu the distributor is gone and you use the coil packs. the gte engine does not have a dizzy.
drive train has nothing to do with the coil packs or distributor. if you get a full swap everything should be there to ru the coilpacks that the motor comes with.
you can do the coilpacks on the motor you have now but it requires quite a few parts and aem ems or something like that to control it...
and also the statement about doing this for tuning reasons.... there have been many people that have made 400+hp with the distributor.
and as far as the tranny goes i dont know what "supra engine package" youre talking about but if its a TT motor and it has a manual gearbox its a v160 6spd tranny. they fit into sc's but some require banging the tunnel some and a different driveshaft and other components. but that "supra engine package" will cost you upwards of $6000 and up
