alignment? help

Default alignment? help

i have had some steering problems i have a lot of play in my steering wheel. i will be driving down the road and lets say i turn right the steering wheel will turn a quarter of the way before it starts to turn does the same turning the other way. what could this be i checked my ball joints and they arent busted and seem fine could it be alignment. any help would be great.

alignment may not be the issue. Check the steering rack bushings for wear (two towards the driver's side, one on the pass. side). Also check the PS system for any leaks in it as well. Alignment is the last thing that may cause the problem, if so it might be a caster issue. Check all your other joints like control arm bushings and such as this will also cause sloppy and soft steering.
