Default Harness

I just drop my engine in yesterday. Much Much harder than putting in the 2jzgte than the 2jzge It's hard to reach the engine mount bolts and the rear of the turbo kept hitting the fire wall. I needed to angle it just right and use the jack to lift the transmission up to line up the engine mounts. I think that putting in the harness with the engine out would make for a much easy install because the harness has to run under intake manifold. There are ground points and plugs that need to be attached. It's hard to see and reach. There is limited space to work with the engine in. I am glad that I just waited to install the engine and harness as one.

Nice! Looks like its coming along great! Can I get some pics of how you mounted your intercooler? I'm thinking about redoing mine and cleaning up the piping.

As I was trying to reach the engine mount bolt on the Driver Side I was thinking to myself that I am glad that the harness is Installed. No worries it's not a big problem at all. You are just going to have to take your time and not get Frustrated. Remember where and what needs to be pluged where. You can always look at your other engine that is out. The hardest part is done. How long till you get the harness back from DR.Tweak? At least you don't have to run a fuel return line. That another difference between our 2jzgte Swaps.

lol, true uhh well he sent me a message today...

Chris,

We're just about ready to send your complete harness out. There are a
number of broken plugs on the harness that we strongly recommend
having replaced. They are:

1 Cam Position Sensor Plug
6 Coil Plugs
1 VSV Plug

We have all new connectors here in stock, they are $15 each, so your
total will be $120 for replacing all of the ones I listed. Let us
know!

so i set up a thing with him to do 2 payments of 60 since my bank is drained to .42 cents to my name.
Which really sucks since i am gonna be starting collage in January and work had a huge hour cut and i'm only taking 160 home a week... but i am hopeing for the harness this week otherwards monday or tuesday.

haha, well it went like this, i was trying all different techniques designing them in my notebook and then testing them, well i cam upon a 90 degree angle pole in my garage that you would use to put chicken wire up with. hehe so i fired up my air compressor, made up some measurements and markings(Remember my a/c is pulled so im not sure if you can do it if you have the a/c condensor in) and i cut it to the width i needed drilled a bigger hole and bam! spent 3 hours screwing around with other designs when all I needed was a pole.

I need to get it sand blasted and repainted :/

If you haven't paid for the new connectors, they list for half that and go for about $5 each through Elmhurst Toyota which is a supraforms sponsor. Even if you went to your local dealer, they'd be cheaper. I have a bunch of spare vsv's and connectors which i can send you for a couple $$ plus shipping. Shoot me a PM if your interested. I know money's tight so hope this helps.

90980-10947 CPS Housing,sensor List $7.23 Elmhurst Price: $5.52
90980-11246 Coil Plug Black Connector List $6.18 Elmhurst Price: $4.71

Just went through all pages of this thread, looks like it's coming together nicely. Good luck on the initial fire.

HAH, I just put the harness on my swap with the engine in. And I'll tell it's a PITA. The worst ones are on the drivers side on the block itself. Putting the intake on was just as bad with frame rail and shock tower in the way. Looking good though, good luck
