Default How it happen????

It was raining hard today and i was on my way to work. i was driving on the right lane and it was splashing a whole lot of water. i was driving in the city and before i know it i was stop at a stop light and my car started to shake and had really low idol. what came right in my head was hey when a manual car has low idol and starts to shake the car going to die. The thing is that my car an automatic so i threw it on N and started to rev the engine so it wouldn't die, when the light turn green i put it on D. Then it happen when i had to get off the light my engine dies, i put the car on N again and crank it, the engine cranks up and then i gave it some gas and the car was driving again. i heard some bubbly noises when i was giving it some gas, first thought came to mind was that some how my intake sucked in some water.

Then again i was driving the car to a light and the car was still holding up at a complete stop, i didn't know how deep the water was until i actually hit it when i made a left turn and my car shut off completely. I tried cranking it up again but it wouldn't turn over. I called all my friends that knew about cars they believe my car got hydro locked or my intake had sucked in some water. They told me to sit on it for awhile and turn on my car.My car was in the middle of the street and i was in work clothes so i had to take off my shoes and work clothes off and started to push my car out of the way. About an hour later my friend came to help me and open up my intake box the filter was a little wet but further down the intake was completely dry. He told me to crank the car again and to my surprise it turned on and he checked the oil and exhaust to see if it had vapors, everything checks out to be fine. I drove my car back home staying away from big puddles of water and seeing if my car was aright. The car drove perfectly again, it sounds still strong, perfect idol, it was like nothing happen. My friend told me worst case scenario that i needed a new engine because i could of damaged my engine while driving it like that.

What really puzzled me was what happened to my car if the water never made it to my intake how my car died and never cranked up until an hour of wait??

My Car is an Sc300 1995 stock everything

easy filter clogged with water and not enough air could pass through thus starving the motor of air its like taking those painter masks the cheap paper ones and spray it damp with water then put it on and try to breath and when you see how hard it is to do so that the same as what your car was trying to do simple as that
