Default A Good Dealer Experience - Long

My SC400 has developed a "Squeal" at the front suspension whenever I get out of my driveway or go over bumps. I take it to the dealer that I got the car (Magnussen in Fremont), they take it out for a test drive, confirm the squeal and just told me that noise and rattles are just cover under warranty for one year and give me a quote of $500 just to inspect and trace the noise. Their altitude is very bad too. I politely say thanks to them and went away.

Call Lexus of Stevens Creek and schedule an appointment. Take 2 week to schedule an appointment. After they test drive it, they confirm the noise and say it is the sway bar bushing. They replaced the bushing under warranty. The noise is still there. They then diagnose it as the lower control arms and replaced it under warranty. Again noise is still there. The then replace the upper control arms and again the noise is till there. Finally they are "sure" that it is strut mount as there is no other parts in the front suspension to replace. That indeed fix the problem. It atke them a whole month to fix this. Most of the time is waiting for parts.

I won't say that they are efficient but at least they listen to you try very hard to address your car's problem to perfection. This is way better Magnussen which just use some warranty excuse side step the problem. All in all I am happy with their service.

Anyone that has a squeal in their front suspension may want to take a look at their strut mount. According to the mechanic this is a very popular problem across all Lexus.
