Default tranny question

i was wondering if the 6 speed manual transmission from an is250 would be compatible with an sc300? i want to convert my sc to a manual transmission this summer and i have the opportunity of getting my hands on a brand new 6 speed is 250 transmission for a good price. how much power would it be able to handle? thanks a bunch

if i had to guess i'd say it won't fit just because its a completly diffirent engine, even if you could retro-fit the trans to your car it may not fit in the trany tunnel, and i don't think you'll ever be eble to line the shifter up. Doing this isn't a driveway/over the weekend type job. if your not an engineer with a machine shop i wouldn't attempt this. You are much better of swaping in a sc 5spd, here is a number for a parts distributer who may have this in stock, they can even sell you the whole swap(trans, clutch pedle assy., clutch master cylinder, etc.): R and J Distributing-716-276-1000, tell them AKautosport reffered you. if your realy set on a 6spd go with the supra 6spd, you won't have to worry about how much power that can handle.
