96 5spd worth it?
I know of a person that wants to sell his 1996 5spd Diamond White Pearl sc300 for $5500 obo. I was wondering if you fellow sc lovers here on CL think its worth it or not. Here are the specs from what I know about.
No accidents (Not specified if its a clean title or not) UPDATE - CLEAN TITLE woot
"serviced 2 months ago"
New Clutch (UPDATE- WITH RECEIPT)
~107K miles
Problems I see coming that were specified.
-Needs the driver side interior door panel(why? I don't know...any guesses?)
-Needs minor cosmetic attention (UPDATE - He said someone backed into the passenger rear quarter panel...so I'm just praying that it isn't that bad from what I'm thinking. Anyone have an estimate on how much it might be to fix if its rusting and pretty bad?)
Any comments/concerns will be greatly appreciated. Hopefully if things go right, ill go from a beater 92 civic to an new to me sc300

On the drivers door panel, probably the arm rest attactment broken, I think the whole panel is like $1,200.00 from Lexus, but if the car checks out, sounds like a pretty good deal to me, good luck.

Well, I never got the chance to see the car because I was swamped with work and homework for school...I had a change of heart to from buying the car because I only have 2k saved and would have to borrow money from fam or something(which i extremely hate doing)
To dinhNER, your a bit far as the guy needs the car sold by sunday
Turns out he's a french native, so his english isn't that great, but it really is understandable.
Good luck on whoever jumps on this. Seems like I'll be in my civic for a while until I can manage to save a little more and buy a sc off here...

You don't need the whole panel to fix that. I had the same issue on both sides when I used to have an SC400 and I bought the lower part of the panel for ~$200 from Lexus per side. That was a few years ago, however, so I am unsure if you can still get them from the dealership and of the current pricing.

i paid 7500 for mine last year. it had 106 miles with no exterior damage, o interior rips, and new all season rubber. I would say 4250 is a hell of a deal with new clutch. there are 232 96 5 speeds according to the production list. so when I saw mine I jumped on it. having them in canada is even harder.
