Thumbs up LS400 handles

I've been searching for the handles and all the GS mid 90's models I've seen have had the plastic painted handles. So I went to the local Lexus parts department to see what was up. They found that all of them had the paint code for the GS handles. It's the LS400 mid 90's that actually have the metal handles. I had to order mine from eBay since none of the local yards had any. $20 shipped. Not too bad! Pin grinding to commence momentarily. Thanks for the information and pictures. I just noticed though that the pics have been moved on the thread.

Sorry guys, the pics got moved, so here they are again.

One extra thing I did as a safety precaution, was I took a lighter and heated up the piece that holds the cable and closed the gap a bit more.

Thanks guys

I have written another DIY on the same topic, but with many more pictures.

Find it here: DriftSC Metal Interior Door handle Installation DIY

DiRocco (or anyone else who has done this mod),
I know this is a super old thread, but the time has come to replace my interior door handle.

My questions are: The LS400 is a four-door and all the handles are metal. Do you know if the front and rear handles are different (different part numbers?) and whether you purchased the front or the rear handle(s) for your car?
Additionally, did the newer LS400 handles change, or is the 90-94 identical to the 95-00?

Any information is much appreciated and will likely save me a trip or two to the dealer!

Edit:
So, to anyone still doing this mod, (after examining a friend's car) it appears that at least the metal portions of the ls400 handles are the same front and rear, I am currently waiting for my pair to ship.

Im in the same boat.. Just had my passenger handle snap off as my friend was getting out of the car.....
It doesnt really matter to me if they came off LS or GS but do let me know if they work. There are a few LS400s being parted out around my area. Would love to not have to wait for shipping.

thanks

What about the outside door handles in chrome for the Sc 3/400. Anyone know where to get or tried a retro-fit?
