Hey,
i've been doing research on toyota differentials and LSD and i was wondering if and how difficult it to use a JZA80 Supra TT differential in my SC300, what different parts will io need for the swap. etc...
I have done some research and if i need to do more on my own i will, but i was just curious if anyone else here has done or is using the Supra TT torsion differential
thanks

and swapping a complete pumpkin is super easy. i removed the diff once in my garage with hand tools and jack stands in 32 minutes. without removing exhaust and all work done on my own.

You couldnt have done that much research, there's been a ton of discussions about differentials lately.Originally Posted by redsharkIS

You must have some kind of superman thing going on, it took me and my buddy bout 4 hours to swap diff's in my 240sx. I imgaine the lexus one weighs more too. I think it took me more than 30 minutes just to torque the bolts off of the axles. don't even get me started on the driveshaft bolts...Originally Posted by 5sp_jzz30

^^^ Mad props ^^^
actually i have a 240 also and that one was a biatch compared to the SC for some reason. the problem with my 240 was actually the driveshaft too. lol. the sc is easy as cake

Pole Position
My swap took about 3.5 hours on my own in my driveway on stands.
I had to drop my custom exhaust and had to make a couple of little minor repairs along the way to fix little issues that were obvious when removing the differential.
That time included filling the new diff with oil, rechecking all the bolts and doing a quick test drive.
I wasn't working at pace and could have gone a bit quicker but I don't like to rush jobs on suspension or drivetrain.
Matt.
