Default Throttle Position Sensor Situation

Hey guys, my car has been bucking for a while and recently it stopped. After that, it started eating gas at twice the rate and there is a major loss of power. I had it brought to Lexus for a diagnosis and they said it came back with a code 041 throttle position sensor failure.

I ordered a TPS online and put it in yesterday. I adjusted it almost close to the old one's position. I got just some of the power back, but it feels like I'm driving a V4 now instead of a V2 a week ago. I am still burning gas like crazy and holding up traffic because its slow. Anyone have any ideas? Does adjusting the sensor's exact position really make that much of a difference? I tried turning it to a couple different positions but there didnt feel like much difference.

Just a little extra info, my car is so much louder now...it sounds like i just put on an aftermarket exhaust. There is smell of gas being burnt when I roll down the windows. Alot of the parts on my car are in working order because I just did a major maintenance run with many engine parts. I really need help because this is costing alot of money in gas driving to work

that'd be me who had that problem. MAF definitely solved it. And my understanding of a MAF is it pulls gas from the A/F mixture as necessary so I'd look into that for sure
