bat light flickering need help asap

Arrow bat light flickering need help asap

well my batt light came on a few weeks agao so i had the alt tested it was bad i put on a used one and its workin fing well last night my battlight started flickering so i put a volt meter on it and it reads 14 volts at idle and almost 19 when u rev it whats going on this is makein me parnoid. when car is at idle light remains off, when u start to drive and hold a steady low rpm the light stays on and when ur reving it eaither goes off or flickers is this some kind of voltage regulator issue is there a built in voltage regulator in the altanator or is it seperate i need help asap and im broke, ive put several miles on the car last night today and tonight and its still runnin but its sluggish not really showing signs of a bad altanator in my opnion. IM LOST.

An alternator should not be putting out close to 20 V. Maybe 14.5 at the most. Perhaps you have to high of a voltage coming from the alternator. I would guess that your best coiurse of action would be to just get this one checked.

Also check for loose battery or ground connections.

Mine did that when the connection had come loose. It kept doing it until I double-nutted it.

everything is tight and all my cables are in good shape

Id say its my altanator autozone says its putting out 190 amps and its a 100 amp alt so im asumeing its the voltage regulator inside so i have another altanator so i think im gonna try and take both of them to someone to try to make one good one any thoughts on this?

Save yourself time and money just go get a new alternator

thats $200 i dont have i dont have a job and i have a few felonies on my record that im not even guilty of that are makein it hard to find one

its a voltage regulator inside the alternator that is bad. it can damage electronics in your car if you keep driving it. you can should never see that much voltage. the extra amperage is nice though

a rebuilt one from autozone is 200 i have 1 on my car and an extra one laying around my dad knows a guy who rebuilds them im gonna take both of them to him and see what he says
