I was driving like 30 mins ago and on the way home I hit a small dug area in the middle of the road where there has obviously been some repairs made, or are in progress; it spanned the whole lane so no way of avoiding it, by the time I hit it was I was going about 32mph, and it was, by my guess, not more 2.5" deep. Immediately after hitting it, I didnt think anything of it, however, like a minute later, I felt the left side of the car suddenly feel lower. At first I thought that maybe I blew the tire. So I ran over some reflectors to feel for it, nothing there, slowed down and stuck my head out the window and it was obviously not flat. When I got home like ~1 mile late, I got out and noticed the whole left side is lower by about 1" now, front and rear. So, I was wondering if anyone has any idea as to what might have happened? Its too late to have a good look at it now, but first inclination is that I blew the shock on the left side but I am still not sure why both front and rear got lowered...

 

wow..talk about a quick and easy way to lower your car! haha. are those the stock shocks? how does it ride right now? does it ride rough?

^^^^ Ride seems stock... haha Yeah, it's stock suspension. It seems less bouncy but I am sure it's not good to be running around like this for long.

Also, Im sure its been beaten to death (I'll admit, I dont feel like searching right now), but if I got SC300 shocks/struts with SC300 springs, would those work on my SC400? I was browsing the classifieds and found a few complete sets...

 

It is, but I figured it would get more views in the general forum since the suspension one seems a bit less active... I figured if it were an issue one of ya'll would move it anyway; didnt think that quick though... haha

 

Well, I did run over the thing with both sides, but I can try again with just the right, we'll see... haha

I hate to say it but the SC is really just a beater so I could not justify spending too much for suspension. The opportunity presents itself now (assuming its the struts) for a shock/spring set up. Coilovers would be overkill IMO for a car I will not really mod. I was planning on getting another car in the spring/summer so if the problem seems more than shot struts, it might be time to start looking sooner (hopefully not though)...

 

get some good, used, low mileage shocks off the supra forums. then buy some mk4 supra lowering springs. this will let you keep comfortable ride but lower your car and give it a more aggressive stance. talking of stance.....get their coilovers. im saving up right now
