Brake Leak
Hey guys great board. I have quite a concern. I just noticed that my front left tire has a leak and it is indeed brake fluid. What could this be, a bad brake line? I'm sure this is very dangerous so I'd like to know what is could possibly be so that I can by the parts ASAP and do it myself and not have to take it in anywhere as I usually don't let anyone work on my car besides a good mechanic friend of mine but even he charges me a good amount for things I'm not real clued on. Please let me know what this could be. It seemed to leak pretty good as I've noticed. My other tires are fine.
This is VERY dangerous, it will disrupt your entire braking system. Meaning, not just your front left tire but ALL your brakes will be disabled. You need to get it fixed ASAP. I'd say don't drive it until it's been remedied.
It may be the brake line connections there's two, one from the main line higher in the fender and the other is directly on the caliper. Or the problem may be your caliper itself.
If you're replacing the brake lines might as well flush the whole system and upgrade to stainless steel. If it's the caliper...upgrade to LS calipers. Make lemonade out of lemons! But the main thing is get it FIXED!

next time post the year, model, and trim of the car(ie TRAC or non), mileage, and possible previous modifications.
i dont know how many miles you have on the car but due to age of the car or excessive wear the caliper seals may have gone bad. it may be a washer between the caliper and the line that is leaking, or it might be the connection between the solid steel line and flexible rubber one as previously stated.
your best best would be not to drive the car until its fixed. you dont need to be a mechanic to do the visual inspection either. take of the wheel and look for the leak. if its really bad then put on some dirty clothes and goggles. then have someone push the brakes and look for the fluid escaping.
good luck with the fix

Ok apparently, nothing is leaking. I noticed no leaks or anything on the ground. I must have been tripping out when I saw it parked and it seemed like something was leaking. I checked my mast. cyl. and everything is completely full, i noticed no leaks. Im wondering what that really was that was leaking. I checked out everything and it was indeed fine. I know what to look for, it could only be my line, hose or mast cyl but i just did not see any leaks or damage and my pedal does not seem spongy nor does it depress to the floor at all. The only thing I can think of is that I drover over a puddle of water with my left tire (i use my car for work..driving, etc) and it splashed over my rim. I was just being paranoid. But thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.
