Squeak Diagnosis
Howdy fellas,
A while back I cracked my fan blade slightly and needed a new one. I just got one from Aliga the other day and put it on.
My hope was that the cracked fan blade caused a pulley or pulleys to wobble slightly.
Something in that vicinity is squeaking and carries through acceleration at any speed. The car is still extremely responsive, accelerates normally, and seems to be fine. My gas mileage is still in between 22-25 depending on how I drive and where I drive (The usual gas mileage factors).
When I bought the car the idler pulley on the belt tensioner was making a chirping or squirrel like noise, but no squeak. Now, the car squeaks and occasionally will make the squirrelly noise. Again, the belt looks like it is wobbling but I can't tell what pulley is causing it to do so.
If you spray PB Blaster, WD-40, or other types of lube with a stream, the sound goes away. I spray right behind the fan clutch and in that area, but I know that the belt carries the lube everywhere.
No overheating whatsoever.
Thoughts?

spray water + a little soap on belt. if squeak goes away replace belt.
its only 20 bucks and should always be the first thing you do in that area when dealing with noise. proper tension might stop your squeaking.
i like the gator-back or v belt.
