I was looking at getting a high flow intake at lexussc400.com and was wondering if all aftermarket systems required an maf adaptor. They have a filter on the site for $50 and I don't know the difference between that and a full blown $200 intake system. I'm assuming the $50 filter fits directly in place of the oem airbox (no special tools, extra parts, or adaptors needed)? Also they sell a custom heat shield there for $99. Worth it? What are some intake systems/filters that you found to be worthwhile? Or should I just buy another oem Lexus filter pad from the dealership?

 

i got my filter from a shop in town
and it came with a maf adapter...
and the cone fit right over the adapter
it works really welll.....i really enjoy it alot

only cost 150
...... so subtract whatever a maf adapter costs
and thats what i paid for a filter.... and i put it on in about 15 minutes
works wonderfull

i think its just a K&N

 

do a search for either MAF, MAF Adaptors, or Importtoys. U will see my setup along w/ a few others, which will only cost $50-$80.

Thanks guys, I pretty much found what I needed to know. I'm going to buy the MAF from importtoys.com, but what kind of filter comes with the $49 MAF package? Would I get better gains just buying the MAF adaptor and a K&N filter?

Impottoys, how come half the products have no price or image/description? I'm interested in a carbor fiber hood, cf interior trim, and maybe a strut bar, but there aren't any prices. And what color do the Soarer emblems come in? chrome, gold, black? Thanks.
