My alternator went out this morning and now my shifter is locked. I found out that the shifter locks b/c of the dead alternator by reading some other posts here, but not really sure how to move the shifter to N so that I can push the car back into the driveway. Could someone tell me please?

there is a a switch called Switch Lock i think thats what is called hold it down and shift into gear. its near the ash tray

 

and there's a forum called engine and transmission...

if theres a round cover on it rip it off and stick ur key in there and it will move.

 

Where should the round cover be exactly? Thanks!

 

its like a black rubberish circle close to the shifter. its on the top left.

my alternator died as well due to a oil spill so now iam waiting on the phone to see if my new alternator came in....
