Considering purchasing a SC300
Reliabilty is certainly fantastic with the SC, so parts availability and cost must be considered with the relative reliability of the two vehicles.
While the SC tips the scales similarly to a Supra, the long wheel base gives it a distinct disadvantage in the twisties. 19 of 20 heavily modded SC's lay the wood on the 1/4-mile or the freeway.
If you want a Toyota that handles like a champ, look at the MR2. But, if you were stuck between the SC and the 240 for an autocross/road race vehicle, the 240 has a significant advantage being shorter and lighter.

A modded 240 might attract a little more attention from the local popo...not sure if thats something you are considering or if you plan to mod much. Then again, with the popularity of the SC rising they wont mistake it for a granny car much longer.
.
i switched because i wanted something with a nicer interior. classic styling of a coupe with all the luxury and power to get sideways if you want.
but if you dont care about how nice the car is the 240sx is more nimble.
