I don't have a problem doing the work. The insurance is taking care of everything. I'm going to run the car without the foam for now, I can always put it on when i get my car back, i just want my car back at this point.

The only question left remaining is, why would the bumper not match the crash beam? (Not the foam, but where it mounts)

Why spend $40 and waste time placing an order (plus waiting for it to arrive or having to drive and pick it up) when it's COMPLETELY unnecessary when you can take the old foam and put a knife to it and in 2 minutes have the part you need?

But hey, some people enjoy flushing money down the toilet I suppose. Flush away!

Bro, your bodyshop guys are idiots and I'd be VERY worried about them doing a competent job based on the things you've posted.

It's not that hard. Take your existing 92-96 bumper foam and cut the top section off of it, the "top section" is basically the part of the foam that you would see through the grill opening on the 97+ bumper. Just take a knife and cut that top section off so you can't see it through the grill, then install the new bumper. I wouldn't install the bumper without it, why? It's right there in your face...just take a sharp object and cut the top off. I can't explain it any simpler than that. I can't believe the bodyshop guys can't figure this out.

I have a question...Did you get a factory bumper cover or aftermarket like keystone or capa?

I agree with everything he just said. Just cut it, it does literally take 2 minutes. I did it with no problem. Other than that, all the main bolts should line up perfect.
