Make sure the power steering pump isn't leaking onto the alternator. Make sure your LCA bushings are ok and the car doesn't clunk going over bumps.

Make sure the needles aren't burned out on the gauge cluster.

To name a few
Well this '98 does not have 3 spoke steering wheel (it has the 4 spoke wheel instead). And does LCA stands for, where are they located..?? Sorry im a newbies .

LCA = Lower control arms, which are a part of your rear suspension. The bushings are normally rubber on stock cars, so they can wear out and cause metal-on-metal clanking/clunking. This can also occasionally be an issue for front strut mounts as well.

I'm not sure how you would inspect the bushings exactly (without a lift of some sort), given that the car sits relatively low. But if the car doesnt clank/cluck when going over bumps, that should be a good thing.

Oh, and only the '99 and '00 SC's have the three-spoke steering wheel stock.

EDIT: Per habitat, I mistakenly inferred the LCA's were only part of the rear suspension. Thanks for pointing that out; I'm not a car expert by any means, but I should have known that!

LCAs are both front and back. Front LCA are generally worn first b/c of the extra weight of the engine and transmission in the front.

One owner.

Trying to find out more about the car.

Thanks in advance,

I have a Canadian spec sc400 and those are full option as far as i know i read about in old test reviews that USDM had optional traction control and ecc , not sure though
but damn you are lucky with your barn find , i thought i had low mileage (KM) with 146k kilometer with 1 owner
1 advice ...check your car on dry out bushings/tyres and replace all the fluids
