Question on installing TT seats
hey guys,
after searching, i know to take the 2 large wires from the existing plug on the car and connect them to the 2 wires from the seat (this is if you have power TT seats). now my question pertains to the sensor for the seat belt. what do i do with it in order to not have the seat belt light on the dash to stay on? tia.

Make something to trip the connection circuit. Wire it in to place.
All that is...is a electronic switch that is closed/off when the seat belt is in.
Find me a wiring diagram (I'm not going to look for it.

I cut my Supra seat belt sensors and just pulled the dash bulb.
It took all of five minutes because there is enough play in the cluster harness to allow you get a look at the bulb without pulling any of the three plugs behind it.
It was a cheap and easy fix. I never forget to wear my seat belt, so the warning light is pretty much useless anyways.

I rather not pull the dash light, but you're right its probably an easy fix.

on my sc seat, there is a plug that could go directly to the plug on the tt seat. the problem is this plug stayed on the sc seat and not on the harness on the car. the single harness on the car (at least on the passenger side) contained the 2 power wires and 3 additional wires. without me cutting all the electrical tape on the sc seats, i have no idea how to wire it up...i may end up doing just this if no help is found here.

so you have 3 extra wires? what colors are they?
i dont know how they normally work but i know alot about electronics.
either you will have one wire or 2 wires to control the light.
if its one wire there are 2 possibly scenarios.
signal is always high, then grounded when you insert belt. or the opposite.
if there is 2 wires controlling it then its a loop and the seatbelt in makes the connection between them.
problem is you dont want to ground it to the wrong ground (another signals ground). especially like the seat motors ground or something.
if you have a volt meter/fluke it would be very easy to tell.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS but if you feel lucky you can try tapping two of those wires together and see if the light goes off. I dont really recommend this because i have no idea what that third wire is for. you could possibly blow a fuse or if there is not fuse on that line you could blow another accessory inline with it. ground is usually black/green/brown if that helps.
oh yeah there is a chance its a really complicated switch that needs all 3 signals as well which would make pulling the bulb out of the dash alot more favorable.
post a pic, and any diagram you have

thanks for the response. i'm definitely unfamiliar with electronics myself, thus the question. i'll check it out today to see what colors they are. i would assume that it's one single wire as the heat option would probably use the other 2. will let you know. thanks.

Has anyone taken apart the receiver part of this. Like...how does the mechanical actions work.
In a Supra, does the light go off when the release button is depressed?
Does the light go off when the lock-blade goes in while holding the release button...
I guess we need to find someone with a Supra.
