Im assuming that since thats what toyota did from the factory
Well since they have the same rods and crank, the only difference being the pistons. Both are cast and are probably about the same strength; but the GE pistons coupled with the thinner headgasket and a notch under the head chambers yield a higher compression ratio.

Stock GTE turbos arent that bad... the JDM ones are the ceramic turbos. Though when both are properly tuned/built you wont see a difference between the two. The GE has a potential to flow more air modded vs modded due to the head design. I wouldnt lay all of your faith on oil squirters

You're speaking of GTEs right? The physical install between the two is the same. The wiring on the 1jz is easier; but there's a myth floating about that the GTE wiring is so hard when its not. If one got a cross reference between the two motors, they could have the wiring done pretty quickly because its not that difficult; the harness plugs are just different, but they have the same wires.

Hmm I think the Skirts are way thinner pistons are diff too. Rods probably are the same alot of turbo rods have these hole on the side tho for oil. I work on mostly nissan motors and they all have em. Yea I mean for stock pistons i would want oil squirters just because they would need that extra cooling. Unless you go some good forged pistons then it really wouldnt matter. But overall IMO Its easier to do everything starting with a gte motor more and better parts. Just less of a hassle I would rather have that tad bit of extra comfort lol.

Default Lot of thinking

But not a lot of facts. You really should get the New Car Features book for the '93 Supra, it would kill a lot of these speculative discussions.

Skirts are resin-coated on both, pistons are almost identical but with higher compression on the GE.

That applies to a conservatively tuned GE or a GTE.... GE is slightly higher because of the 9.2:1 CR that I recommend (that you get using my NA-T HG kit)

It's interesting to read this thread....

On a side and unrelated note, I would like to add, that not only are my turbos glued to gether with elmers wood clue, the Gates and BOVs are crap as well. Slag the size of golfballs fall from the welds on the mani...... yup..... and the moon is made from green cheese.

OK - so now that I've gotten all the internet nut-swinging out of the way - let me just say thank to the customers who have taken the chance and learned that they got a good product at a great price backed by good customer support. Because some people are smart enough to see thru the BS (Glued compressors, come on!) and some are not

Does anyone know if the intercooler measurements they mentioned are from the end caps or just the core size?

I think they say 24 x 12 x 3

The one I'm getting is 29 x 11 x 3 ( From end caps. The core is 24 )
