Nastiness on the outside: Meguiars Plastix works fantastic.

Nastiness on the inside: You need to go in for surgery.

The general procedure for surgery is 350*F for 3m in the oven, pry off the lens from the housing via a putty knife (possible because the sealant is now hot), clean everything as best as possible, reassemble using non-water permeable sealant (like Silicone).

This thread gives an excellent walkthrough: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=183023

You would be surprised how you can bring your headlights to life with some high quality cleaning products being put to use on the inside and out. The difference is dramatic.

If you are interested in smoking, I strongly suggest doing the inner chromed portion black as well as taping off and doing the outer lip of the inside of the lens as well. You can see how that looks before you smoke the outside of the lens and destroy the light output. If you smoke the outside, Vans Tail Spray is the best stuff out there. It is worth every penny.
