Bumpers need a facelift
I am planning to repaint the bumpers on my 1994 SC300 - they are cracked and faded. Is it easy to remove them? Or should I just leave them in place and carefully cover the car.
Also - I am looking to tint the windows. Any suggestions for tint color (black vs. brown) and opacity percentage (not sure if that is a word - but if you've tinted you probably know what I mean).
I am pretty new to the Forum - glad to be here. I have attached a few pics

Hello, welcome to the forums. What is the legal tint amount in Florida? Since you have a tan interior, I would go with a 5% in back, 15% on quarters and 25% on front. That would be using regular charcoal tint.
As for the bumper. It is pretty damn time consuming if you have never taken the bumper off before. It took me almost 2 hours figuring out where to take everything apart. I would really suggest changing the look from the 1992-1996 to the 97+ front bumper. That will make a huge change and make your car look much newer and improved.
You can get one from Carson Toyota for about 320 (just for the front bumper). Some people go with the whole conversion, but I just did the front and it looks so much better.

The front bumper can be removed in 15-20 minutes if you have done it before. I can not speak for the rear as I have never had it off. But, if you gave me an hour, I like my chances of successfully removing it.
As for tint, I went 20% all around. The customary 30-35% OEM tint was not dark enough for my tastes, but I did not want to attract the attention that 5% tint does. I went with top of the line Solargard tint. It seems remarkably durable, and the application was super smooth and easy.
Like Fireblaze, I have just the 97+ OEM front. It makes a world of difference. It alone takes ten years off the perceived age of the car.
