Is this SC300 5spd worth $3700?
1992 SC300 spd gold on tan needs new seats and door panels, clean body except for crack in lower part of front bumper, 200k miles, and runs and shift ok. Owner wants $3700. Just curious as to what you guys think.

Who cares about the seats and panels - easy to replace and not overly expensive. What original 92 DOESN'T need seats?
Check the more important factors. Frame integrity, suspension, etc. With that high of miles, I agree to look into an engine swap in the not-to-distant future. Runs and shifts OK? What is not good about it? That's what you should be more concerned about.
But for that price, there would have to be a lot wrong with it for it not be a deal.
Sounds like a good project investment.

It all depends on how bad you want the car. I bought my 92 SC300 (5spd....clean title) for $5500 not in the best condition but hey, it's a used car and 14 years old when I bought it.
I thought $5500 was a good price for my SC considering the condition it was in.

i bought my gold 92 5 speed with 175k on it for 3000, from a buddy that i pestered about selling m3e the car for a looooong time. but 3700 is a great deal still, i would still show up to his house and hold 3200 cash out in your hand and watch him ****** it up and sign over the car, theres just something more irresistable about a stack of cash than hearing what youll give him, dont make any "offers" just hold out cash and say this is all i have. i just bought a car this week 1000 less than asking price(which was alrteady good) with this exact technique. hope it helps

Paid 9k for my 92 Black/Grey 5spd with 130k on it. But the car was spotless other than the front seats, had fresh paint, and runs like a champ (ive had it for a year and all I have done is change the oil) and was lowered on BBS wheels, HKS exhaust, Nardi sterring wheel, etc. Yeah, I overpayed a little but I had looked for a decent 5speed for a while and couldnt find one I liked (I live in Ohio) so just went ahead and bought this one. I absolutely love the car and would do it again so I guess its just a question of how badly you want the car.
