I'm about to purchase a sc300. I really want blk/blk with low mileage (preferrably 5mt but i kinda gave up on that) but it is kinda out of my price range. I found a low mileage (67k mi) 92 blk/ran and i was wondering how much it would cost me to redo the intire interior (including ceiling liner, rug, all the panels, etc) to blk? Not sure what to do with seats yet bc it'll have the tan plastic part if i just change the leather. where can is the best place to find these parts? seems to be hard to find black parts on ebay. thanks in advance.
Try posting a WTB in the classified section here. I have seen complete interiors offered before. The seats will be a dilemma. It really depends on if you want to get a leatherseats.com kit or find replacements (stock or racing, etc)
Just an uneducated guess here, I'd say about $1,500-2k for a complete used interior +/- depending on your decision on the seats.
Good luck and please keep us updated on what you do and how much it cost. If you are patient, I'd bet you could find a black on black that is not out of your price range.

this is a reasonable estimate if you were able to salvage this in one fail swoop. part-by-part, I would expect it to cost more.
all told, it would probably be best to sit tight and be patient for a good black on black SC300 if that is what you want. if you have to buy a car now, you really can't go wrong with a well maintained SC.

Second,
Mark (Blizzy) hit it right on. I have been looking at complete black interior parts and $1500 and up is what it brings. I was quoted $2800 for a complete Black with seats and all in mint shape, just for referance.
thanks for the info guys. my price range is around 10k. i went and test drove the 92 yesterday. my first impression was it drives nice but the car feels heavy compared to my 04 accord especially under braking but i really liked the ride quality...the lady listed it for about $7000 but almost every body part on the car has some damage on it. kbb says 7100 for excellent condition so i dont think i would pay more than $6000 for it. i actually found a 98 blk/blk with 80k mi in the range but the seats are tore up... i might just go with that and redo the seats. im not sure which route to go yet. i like the idea of redo-in the 92 but im afraid it might actually cost more than just gettin the 98 and doin the seat bc of the dings and cratches and dents on the 92.
Don't be too concerned about ripped seats. It happens in all of these
BUT - It is not an overly expensive fix. Leatherseats.com kit about $700
Replace OEM seats which will probably crack anyway $300-$700
Racing seats $300-3,000
Don't worry so much about cosmetics. They may be the most noticeable problems, but they are the easiest/cheapest to fix and are really the most trivial.
Get the 98' black on black if the price is that close anyway.
