So I get to work this morning and smoke just starts rolling from under my hood. So I pop the hood and find that the coolant line coming off the regulator is leaking right at the fill/flush cap. Is this an easy fix or a sign of an even bigger issue?

 

prolly just need to get a new hose and clamp. I don't see what it could be except age maybe....

 

Yeah thats what I figured...It's a 92. Just wanted to make sure it wasnt a sign of a bigger problem...I.E. bad regulator, Pump, etc.

Anyone know how much that hose costs and how big of a PITA it is to change?

Should I just go ahead and do all the fuel lines now considering the age of the car?

 

Your picture is the coolant line coming from the back of the engine going into the water heater VSV. Fuel lines are on the other side of the engine where the intake manifold is. Just wanted you to know before you start replacing the wrong stuff

The hose in the picture is ~$25 from Lexus dealer. Or you can just go down to Autozone and buy a foot of heater hose ~$4

 

OK thanks! I figured that out pretty much right after I posted the thread. When it was dripping on the manifold it didnt smell like coolant but now it does. Maybe my nose wasnt awake yet

Last night I tried cutting the hose where it was leaking(on the side running to the radiator) and then just adding a longer hose to the side running to the water heater. But once I put the clamp back on the hose cracked again and starting dripping. So I think Im just going to replace the whole hose. My question is can I get the whole thing from Autozone or should I just hit up the Lexus dealer? Does anyone have the part number for this?
