Hey guys, quick inquiry here.

Wheels I am buying are 18x8.5F +25 and 18x9.5R + 20

I am currently lowered on coilovers and plan to stay that way. What tire size would you guys recommend to get good clearance without having too much of a mad hippari look. I don't want to trash my wheels but I understand I have to make some sacrifices to make these sizes work while lowered.

I've been told to run 225/40 and 245/40 .. will those sizes match in sidewall diameter? That also seems like a small contact patch.

oh i guess not, if you could read and not just look at pictures u would have read 20 mms all the way around brings the rim flush with fedner, and for my other car 18by 10 18by 13 genesis wheel on a s14

Yes, those will fit just fine. Go with a 245/40/18 tire. That should fit that size of a rim nicely. You could probably even go with a 255/40/18 if you wanted to since you aren't lowered. AIt would give you a bigger sidewall as well as more contact with the road.

Those tire sizes would probably be optimal for that size of wheels and being as you are lowered. If you are asking if the sidewall diameter in the front will match the one in the rear, the answer is no. Because the front is a 225/40 meaning the side wall will be 40% of 225mm. The rear is 245/40, being 40% of 245mm. So the rear will have a slightly bigger sidewall than the front.

You could probably get away with a running a bigger tire if you really wanted to, however you would get that kind of bulge look on your rims and you might run into rubbing, especially with those offsets.

Will they be optimal considering my offsets as well? +25f and +20r?

I'm in a rush to order here but I don't want to screw up. I've had people say so even smaller with the tires but that is hard to imagine. I can't picture myself pulling a 225/45 over a 9.5 rear..

edit: what would you run in my situation.. planning to be very lowered with those wheel sizes and offsets?

Alright it's 5:00am here and I am losing sleep.

My numbers just seem too weak. I want to stretch tire a bit and a 245/40 is hardly stretched at all over a 9.5

Something is saying roll the **** out of my fenders and go 18x9.5 + 20 on all 4 corners. What should I run for tires in that case?

Hey guys i'm looking at some 18x8.5 -6 all around. Ive got stock fenders with no drop. I know -6 is kinda crazy but with the skinny 8.5 will they fit with no rub? Anybody have pictures of something comparable?

im about to purchase some 18x8" rims with 275/45/18 goodyears all around. im not planning to keep the tires on there since i dont want to rolld my fenders and these tires rub alread, test fitted already. i want to know what will be the optimum tire sizes for these rims. the offsets are +30 all around.

225/40/18 is the optimum size for an 18x8. You can also run 235/40

Consider running a 10mm spacer in the rear as well.

i would personally go 18x9.5 +20 all around. that will fit a lot more nicely than the 8.5 would in the front and will still give you a nice wide rear stance. Plus with a 18x9.5 all around you are still going to be able to rotate your tires.

With an 18x9.5 all around i would probably go 235/40/18 all around. If you wanted to you can order an 245 or 255 for the rear. But if you went 235 all around you could just rotate them and maybe just throw a small spacer in the rear wheels to give it that much more of an aggressive stance.

Keep in mind that a 225/40-18 will not have correct load carrying for our cars, neither will it be tall enough...

225/45-18 would be better, and 245/40-18 would be as close as stock diameter as possible... and, in my opinion, 245's look pretty good on an 8" wide wheel...

I need help found some wheels. Size front 18x9 offset +9, Rears 18x11 +20. Will these work on my SC300. I have Tanabe springs 1 1/4" drop in front & 1" drop in rears w/ tokicos. Also what tires size do you suggest I use. Or do you think with these offsets that their a waste of time and to much of a headache..thanks for any help

Where are you getting your information from? Tall enough.. for what? How can you assume and generalize that a 225/40 can't handle the load? 245's fill an 8" right out. It doesn't look good. I'd only rock that much tire if I was building an auto-x car and wanted every inch of contact patch.

My daily driver runs 225/40/18 on 18x8 all 4-corners and it's great + the tires don't look small AT ALL.



That is 225/40/18 on 18x8 ... if I ran 245 it would look stupid.
