I'd like to talk to a BMW engineer or something to understand the physics behind exhaust flow... I mention them because for some reason their new "M" roadster is like 17 hp weaker because the car isn't long enough to accomodate the M3's exhaust piping. WTF? I wanna know how and why that works... Maybe I should go back to school now for an engineering degree

I wonder how Porsche gets around this. Their rear engines have always ported to a compact and short exhaust system. The Boxster, for instance combines both banks into a central exhaust, and catalytic muffler system. I wonder how they get this done so well. You are right. The more you study this, the more questions you have.
