Spark Plug Wires - Need A New Set
This winter I plan on replacing my spark plug wires in the 93 SC400. I have been used to running the Magnacore 8.5mm wires www.maganacore.com in my other cars so I was thinking of running them in the SC.
When looking the engine over today, one thing struck me. The spark plug wires are entirely hidden on my 93 under slotted shields on each side of the upper engine. I was wondering, just how tight is it under those shields to lay in a loom the wires? The 8.5mm wires are perhaps a 1/16" or so larger (1.5mm larger) than the 7mm standard wires. Magnacore does make 3 different sets for the SC400. They can come in 7mm or 8mm or 8.5mm. So do you think the 8.5mm's would fit in there under the shields?
Second question perhaps my be a religious one...
What brand spark plugs and part numbers are you all fond of running in the SC400? Mine are currently dealer stock, I was just wondering if any of you have tried other brands and which may fit and work well?

I just replaced my plugs/wires,used the Bosch wires, which did not fit so good;they were made 2-1/2" longer than the stock wires, and there isn't any real good place to stuff the excess.
I used stock ND irridiums, which are supposed to last awhile.

I had after market wires too, and they do not fit good. I went back to the oem wires today... I used the Bosch Platinum Plus 4 today(wanted to try these for awhile)... I used the ngk plugs last year(no problems at all)...

The Iridium will last longer than all of these... but at a premium price...
Go with the stock wires.... JMO...
