Default How to stop trunk rattling...?

Is it just me or does all Lexus trunks' rattle with loud bass?? It seems to rattle more than other cars. Why is this? Is it because of the gas tank...? Does anyone know a way of getting rid of the rattling or atleast reducing it?

Dynamat the whole thing....
including the gastank and the spare tire area....
Another 'problem' area is the rear bumper cover....Dynamat is your friend!!!!

any tips on dynamatin the trunk?
i dynamated my car with 25 sq ft of cheap dynamat it didn't reallie do much.
my dynamat xtreme bulk kit juss came in so i'm going to start working on it this weekend.
i figure that the gas tank is the major problem

where exactly should i dynamat the rear bumper cover?

it sounds like the rattle is also coming from under the car should i use the dynamat spray also?

any reply would be very helpful

thanx

its actually IS the rear bumper cover that makes the 'outside' noise.. If yoiu look under the rear of the car you will notice 3 mounting points for the rear cover...they are held by plastic screws and will work themselves out after a while..this makes the whole cover vibrate against the body.
Secure the crews again and use the 'spray type' to cover the entire inside of the cover. Also check the exhaust hangers.
The other problem area for these cars is the spare tire...make sure everything is secure and dynamat that area as well....

I was really annoyed by the rattling in the back of the SC. I Used 2 custom kits of Dynamat Xtreme on the trunk and rear seat area. Things I noticed rattled a lot were gas tank, rear bumper, and spare tire and accessories (tools, jack,etc.). I removed the spare tire and tools from the trunk and that helped tremedously. Also I used xpanding foam for some of the little nooks and crannies that I could dynamat in.
