i am thinking about getting some wires to dress up my engine. I know that ACCEL makes some colored ignition wires, but what other companies are there, and do these wires actually help performance?

Don't do it. Tuners stick with the stock Lexus wires. The stock wires are used on 500+rwhp turbo upgraded cars. They are some of the best available. Many people report problems on non-stock wires. Also, these stock wires will last over 100k miles.

Not to mention the stock wires come with the plastic clips that make them easy to fit in the original location. Some of the other brands are larger in diameter than the stock wires. You will find that there isnt alot of room to play with in there.
Just another suggestion.....You might want to consider having new valve cover gaskets onhand when you change you plugs and wires. You will have access while everything is apart. I found a little oil leak around one of my covers when I changes my own.
