clear tail lights
I was looking on the GS forum and one of the members was able to remove the orange in the tail lights by opening the unit and taking out the orange insert.

Has anyone ever opened or seen a broken SC taillight to see if the orange is an insert or is it part of the outer plastic piece. I am referring to the 92 to 94 lights. If its just an insert it should be relatively simple to remove it.

oh my god.. that would be a project for someone whos got plenty of time on their hands. i bought an extra pair of 92-94 lights, and tried to remove the orange part of the turn signal, and relized that its too much work for me. i dont think is possible to get the orange out, cause the lense is orange, its not a clear coating over the orange. so youd have to replace the whole orange chunk.
all in all not worth it.. just my 2 cents.

i don't think it's an insert at all. i think the orange piece is the actual plastic, then it's another clear coating for the outside. oh man, if i can get mine clear! i heard it was possible to carefully "crack" the outside, but i don't know.
yeah, id do almost anything to have my top signal clear. i tried for so long, but it didnt work. i ended up screwing up the light pretty bad. but ill just use that one as the test, cause its still pretty much together.

I feel your pain. I know that clearcorners.com has done that sort of thing before. I spoke to them and they said they have a 97 tail light upgrade with LED conversion in the works. Let them know.
