Hello. Just a quick intro. My name is Steve, I picked up a SC400/soarer limited from Japan a couple of weeks ago. I'm here in the Philippines for the past 3 years, formally from Boston. From what I can tell there are a total of 5 SC's here in Cebu, Philippines, mine being the only V8, hehehe.
Most vehicles here are 3 and 4 (yes 3) cylinders. Even I have a 2004 Toyota Revo that is a 2 wheel drive sport utility, about the same size as a Lexus GX. It is the top of the line model sporting a 2.0 4 cylinder. You can't imagine how nice it feels to be stompin on that V8 after 3 years of 4 (and yes even a 3) cylinder truck(s).
Anyway, this forum has been very helpful in checking out this SC for purchase,, even with an extensive backround with Lexus and a 50 car/bike/truck collection spanning 25 years. So thank you and I will post some pics as soon as I figure out how.
Yup, they come from Japan. Suzuki 660 cc 12 valve motorcycle engines retro fitted into SMALL pick up and van style trucks and now cars too! They are actually very impressive. I saw 42 sacks of rice (50 kilos each) get loaded in one the other day ! Truly amazing and i wouldn't belive it if I didn't see it with my own eyes. It is not uncommon to see a dozen people pile into the back of one. It's a different world here in the Philippines
Welcome! One of my best friends is from the Philippines and he always tells me about the crazy cars they have; little SUVs with Honda B16A DOHC VTEC engines.
Thank you for the greetings !! The pictures I posted have to many lines ? Something about an 800 line limit. I'm waiting to talk to my buddy to see if there is someway to change the format of them. The web site wouldn't except them. I will get it done as soon as I figure it out. Yes I'm inept when it comes to computers.
